It's Finally Here: "Laughing Gas"

Our patients have been requesting this for a while now- how could we say no?

You don't have to worry about a painful root canal anymore or the hangover of getting your wisdom teeth taken out. Amador Dental Care has you covered.

Many professional dentists would recommend N20 if you:

  • have a hard time sitting still in a chair

  • have multiple procedures in one visit

  • have very sensitive gums or teeth

  • experience anxiety while at the dentist

  • having a procedure that makes you uncomfortable

How will the gas make me feel?

If you're unsure whether or not using "laughing gas" is the way to go for you, talk to us and we'll give you our best opinion. The gas is completely odorless and colorless so there's no worry about having discomfort. The gas gets fed through a tube and fits perfectly on a nose-like mask. All you need to do is breathe normally and let the gas do its job.

Now, nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, is not intended to put you to sleep. Instead its purpose is to make our patients feel calm and comfortable when they otherwise would not.

Is It Safe for Kids?

Nitrous oxide is 100% safe for your child. Especially when considering crowns, fillings, extractions. Laughing gas is the mildest form of sedation that dentists can use, and therefore is recommended for children when necessary. The gas is so safe to use and control that it can be used for something as simple as a cleaning- if the child has anxiety or extreme nervousness.

Laughing gas does not compromise children or adults ability to understand and respond to questions. It might be a silly response, but that's why it's nicknamed "laughing gas".
